BRAHMAN CALVES
Young cattle of both sexes are called calves until they are weaned, then weaners until they are a year old in some areas; in other areas, particularly with male beef cattle, they may be known as feeder-calves or simply feeders. After that, they are referred to as yearlings or stirks if between one and two years of age.
The cows are of a medium size (550-600 kg), at birth the calves weigh on average from 40 to 45 kg. The male fattening calves are ready for slaughtering at a weight of 550-650 kg when they are about 15-18 month old, the females at about 350-450 kg when they are about 14-16 months old.
MALE BOER GOAT
The most-prized Boer goats are large, stocky animals with a white body and a red head, brown eyes, lop (downward-hanging) ears, backward-curving horns, and strong, well-placed legs. Adult males often reach 160 kg (350 pounds), and females can weigh as much as 110 kg (about 250 pounds).

Birth weight of Boer kids ranges from 3 to 4 kg with male kids weighing about 0.5 kg heavier than female (Figure 1). Kids at weaning can weigh from 20 to 25 kg, depending on weaning methods and age. At 7 month of age, bucks weigh about 40 to 50 kg while doelings weight about 35 to 45 kg
